INSPIRATION: One of my favorite Gospel stories. Jesus is not yet ready for a public miracle. However, in typical Mother-fashion, Mary ignores Jesus and tells the waiter to 'do as He says'.

I've depicted Mary handing out instructions, the delighted waiter seeing the wine and Jesus looking at His Mother as if He is thinking, "Really, Mother?"

Jesus' First Miracle: Jesus is at a wedding in Cana, enjoying conversation with his friends when His mother comes to HIm and says that the host has run out of wine. Jesus replies, Woman, how does this concern of yours involve me? My hour has not yet come.
--John 2:4

His mother instructs the waiter, "Do whatever He tells you."
--John 2:5

Jesus goes on to instruct the waiter to fill the six jars with water to the brim. Jesus turned the water into wine and when the waiter-in-charge called the groom over to taste the wine, the groom said, "People usually serve the choice wine first; then when the guests have been drinking awhile, a lesser vintage. What you have done is keep the choice wine until now."
--John 2-10
