my work:
a personal profile |
One thing I know for sure --- we are all given unique talents and opportunities in this life to make this world a better place. In reflection, every experience has had its purpose. My career as an artist began as an illustrator which led me to open a graphic art and technical illustration business serving the federal government, local communities and non-profits --- designing logos, branding and presentation materials. The business grew in size to several employees and after many years an opportunity for change showed up on my path that I couldn't pass up. It was over lunch that my life-long friend, Debbe Kennedy and I came up with a unique idea for a business --- to blend our very different talents to create a successful consulting company, Leadership Solutions. At the time, Debbe had a 21-year distinguished leadership career with IBM. It was a perfect match and our business went on to serve several Fortune 100 companies over the years --- my part? --- creating artwork, including marketing/sales material, logos, web graphics and more, plus the design and layout for Debbe's many books and articles. In addition, from its founding in 2012 thru 2021, I created all the graphics, including the logo and all print material for the TABLE of PLENTY HMB, a non-profit 501-c3 charitable corporation that serves a home cooked dinner every Thursday evening to struggling families, elders and those who are unhoused in Half Moon Bay. Check it out. It's a fabulous evening of good food and fellowship. I was honored with the following comment in the Catholic SF newspaper: “We are very fortunate to have Sally Green as our TABLE of PLENTY artist,” said Notre Dame Sr. Jeanette Braun, TOP founding director. “I love the elegant simplicity of her designs that grace our logo and TOP publications. Sally has brought distinction to our ministry...” Although time has not permitted it lately, one of my favorite things to do was to be a volunteer photographer for those looking for their ancestors on Find A Grave. I became interested in this amazing project while doing my own ancestry exploration a few years ago. Many of my family members came to San Francisco in the 1870s but I never thought about where they were buried. I was delighted to discover many of their graves at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma, California. The process of finding them there was a turning point that changed most everything in ways I never could have imagined. |
