Symbol of the HOLY SPIRIT:
In all four Gospels the Holy Spirit is described as a dove: Matthew 3:16, Mark 1:10, Luke 3:22 and John 1:32.
The HOLY SPIRIT:
If you love me and obey the commands I give you, I will ask the Father and He will give you another Paraclete to be with you always: the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot accept, since it neither sees Him nor recognizes Him.
- John 14:15-17
… you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere…
-
Acts 1:16
The early Church identified the Paraclete in John's Gospel as the Holy Spirit. It comes from the Greek word meaning advocate or helper. |
